Our Farm

Clark Cummings Farms is a small, family-run farm focused on raising high-quality beef with care, intention, and respect for the land.

We’re located in northeast Kansas, where our farm is run by Clark and Julia Cummings. Clark is a fifth-generation farmer and cattleman, and our operation reflects both generational knowledge and a thoughtful, modern approach to farming, grounded in hands-on care and long-term planning.

What started as a small, local effort has grown primarily through word of mouth and relationships with customers who value quality, transparency, and knowing where their food comes from. We’re proud to serve families who care about how their food is raised.

How we raise our cattle

Our cattle spend the majority of their lives on pasture, where they have room to move, graze, and grow naturally. We prioritize animal health, low-stress handling, and consistent care throughout every stage — raising our cattle with the same care we expect from the food we put on our own table.

Our cattle are pasture-raised and grain-finished, a balance we believe supports animal health while producing well-marbled, flavorful beef.

Caring for the land is equally important to us. We make decisions with long-term soil health, pasture sustainability, and responsible land management in mind, because a healthy farm today should still be a healthy farm generations from now.

We don’t chase trends or buzzwords. We focus on practices that support animal well-being, land stewardship, and quality outcomes, even when that means taking the slower or more hands-on path.

Why we sell beef by the share

By selling directly to customers, we’re able to be transparent about how our cattle are raised and intentional about how our beef is processed and distributed. This approach supports clearer communication, consistent pricing, and fewer compromises — for both our farm and the people we serve.

We work closely with customers to answer questions, explain options, and make sure expectations are aligned from the beginning. Whether this is your first time buying beef by the share or something you’ve done before, we’re always happy to talk through the process and help you decide what makes sense for your household.
